Life drawing is back!!

Hey Blog!

I've been itching to get back to life drawing!! Felt really good to use the good old paper and pencil again... A few old classmates from our year for this 1st week too (Steve, Liam, Andreas) and also some of the Lalo siblings joined in as well. Here are some specimens from tonight's session:

Sympatico DVD cover

I was recently approached by 'trumpet extraordinaire' (Clint Allen) to create a little DVD cover for an experimental group called 'Sympatico' (trumpet, piano, percussion, laptop). Keep an hear out for them!

Fundamentalism and Capoeira

Here is a little drawing I made for my Capoeira teacher's blog '4Capoeira thoughts'. In a series of 3 post he talks about Fundamentalism as a modern worldwide phenomenon and how it affects the practice of the different styles of Capoeira and inter-group cooperation. Very interesting blog even if you are not entirely into Capoeira.

OZanimate 2010 Launch!!

Hey everyone!! Happy New Year!! I hope you had a great time in 09 and I wish you all plenty of creativity and personal growth in all your artistic adventures of 2010!

I have been busy and working on a little project during the last few weeks that I wanted to share with you for this new year: 'Ozanimate'!!

Ozanimate is a community based website aimed at anyone who is interested in animation in general and in Australian animation in particular.

One of goals of this non-profit website is to be a source of news and entertainment focusing on TV series, short films, feature films and showcasing all types of animated content coming from ‘down under’.

Ozanimate also aims to provide a number of resources like a list of schools, studios and Animation festivals in Australia to help both animation student and professionals.

So come have abrowse and join the site to share ideas, comment on videos, give feedback or even become a contributor by writing posts! The goal is to have this place for everyone and by everyone to help our industry grow by showcasing our local talent!

I was walking in the city mall on Friday and was amazed at the complete Christmas shopping madness. So in these times of mass consumerism I think we should think of the persons who cannot afford a roof over the heads...

Griffith Graduates Screening 2009

Bonjour blogue!

Just thought I'd share some pictures from yesterday's screening! It was a really good one this year and the fresh graduates have definitely raised the bar! Congrats to all of you guys for producing such wonderful work! It gives me great hope for the future of the industry in Australia and in Brisbane in particular!
Amongst my favourites of the night were: 'Knightmouse' (by Josh Huf, Max Cowen and Josh Anguix) 'Defective Detective' (by Andy Copeland, John Grist, Luke Mathers and Francis Stanton) and my pick of the bunch was Samuel Lewis stop-motion jewel: 'Here be Treasure' (exactly the type of short-film that festivals dig!).
